Unless you are living on an old sulfur mine, not at all. The moisture might be more of a problem. One way to keep your tools clean and moisture resistant is to fill a bucket with sand and then pour oil into it. Kitchen oil, new motor oil…….just not old stuff. Keep the bucket outside in shade and then when finished gardening for the day, dip it in the sand a few times to remove soil and add a protective oil coat to the tines/blade/whatever.

The Ph will not hurt your garden tools. Keep them clean sharpened and oiled. That’s all there is to it.
