I am going to be moving soon to an area with some small flower beds. I have never had a garden before and know nothing about it. I would like to know what tools I am going to need to be able to keep up small flower beds. Thanks in advance.

Pruners! Must have good “scissor” type pruners, anvil pruners can crush rather than cut. Get a good trowel or shovel…drop forged not riveted (blade and handle are one piece, safer for you) Shovel, gloves, pistol grip for your garden hose, ummmm, kneeling pad??? Have fun shopping!!

you’ll need trowels, hoes, a shovel for planting shrubs. The knee pads are a good idea! There is nothing ( much) more rewarding that seeing the fruits of your labors in a well tended garden! I hope you enjoy your 1st gardening experinece! I’m sure you will learn as we all have from year to year.. Don’t forget to throw in a tomato plant or 2.. just for fun! and remember the sunscreen!
I have a bulb planter on a *long handle* that I use for planting everything, esp in bulk. It’s great. I also like the hori-hori knife. It has a sharp edge for cutting roots, a measure for planting bulbs, and a trowel shape for planting.
